Kristina Newport MD is an experienced leader in palliative care, currently serving as Chief of Palliative Care and Associate Professor at Penn State College of Medicine since September 2018. Newport is responsible for the development and management of high-quality palliative care education, research, and delivery in both academic and community settings. Previously, Newport held the position of Director of Outpatient Palliative Care and Physician at Hospice & Community Care from November 2009 to June 2018, providing palliative medicine across various settings and mentoring students and residents. Newport's training includes a Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship from Virginia Commonwealth University, along with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Penn State College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
