J.R. Brown has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. J.R. is currently the Senior Director of Information Technology at PBI-Gordon Corporation, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, from 2013 to 2023, they served as the Vice President of Technology at Mazuma Credit Union.
In their earlier career, J.R. Brown worked at Lincoln Electric System as a Supervisor of IT Core Infrastructure from 1998 to 2013. J.R. also held leadership roles at Spirit Of America Federal Credit Union, serving as a Director on the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2013, and at iAdmin Mobile, Inc., where they were the Chief Technology Officer from 2002 to 2007.
Additionally, J.R. Brown gained valuable experience and recognition while serving in the NE Army National Guard as a personnel Sergeant from 1996 to 2007, for which they were awarded the Bronze Star Medal for their service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. J.R. also provided pro-bono technology consulting for Community Action Partnership dba LanguageLinc, LLC in 2004 and worked as a technology consultant at Lincoln Public Schools in 1997.
Throughout their career, J.R. Brown has demonstrated strong leadership skills and expertise in information technology, strategic planning, personnel management, and technology acquisition.
J.R. Brown holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a Graduate Certificate in Finance from The University of Kansas. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management from Doane University. Their education journey began with an Associate's degree in Information Technology from Lincoln School of Commerce. In addition, J.R. Brown has obtained several certifications including ITIL v3 (2011 Syllabus) from EXIN, A+ Technician and Network+ certifications from CompTIA, and certifications as a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (Early Achiever) from Microsoft.
