Alex Zvaniga has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. In 2012, they began their career working as a Dining Room Server at Clevelands House Resort, where they promoted the resort's brand and provided fine dining services. Later that year, they worked as a Backshop employee at The Rock Golf Club, where they staged and maintained the golf cart fleet. In 2012 and 2013, Alex took on the role of Assistant Manager at Abercrombie & Fitch, where they were responsible for day-to-day operations, recruitment, and merchandising.
In 2015, they transitioned to Starbucks as an Assistant Manager, managing daily operations and customer experience at multiple high-volume locations. During their time at Starbucks, they successfully launched the "mobile order and pay" app and achieved high customer adoption rates.
From 2016 to 2018, Alex worked as an Executive Headhunter at Everest Management Network Inc., specializing in the Construction, Transportation, Engineering, and Industrial Automation market segments. They were responsible for client management, recruitment pipeline, and conducting extensive research to match candidates with client needs.
In 2018, Alex joined Carlton One Engagement as a Junior Developer, developing applications for enterprise clients on both web and mobile platforms. They developed a Single Page Application to replace the global storefront and utilized Vue, JS, HTML, and Sass.
Starting in 2019, they joined Ample Labs as a Full Stack Developer, where they built solutions to assist those experiencing hidden homelessness. They led the development of a chatbot application that helped users find free meals, shelter, and social services. They successfully scaled this application to serve 14 municipalities in Ontario.
In 2021, Alex became a Co-Founder and CTO of Mello, a Y Combinator backed startup that aims to eliminate burnout and reduce churn. They evaluated business needs, designed the system architecture, and developed the Minimum Viable Product using Vue.
In 2022, Alex worked as a Full Stack Engineer at Paystone and also took on the role of a Mentor at Lighthouse Labs. In November 2022, they were promoted to Senior Full Stack Engineer at Paystone.
Alex Zvaniga completed a Diploma in Web Development from Lighthouse Labs in 2018. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Law from Carleton University between 2009 and 2013. Their high school education was completed at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a High School Diploma in the International Business and Technology Program.
In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained several certifications. They obtained the Academy Accreditation - Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals from Databricks in October 2022. In January 2016, they received certifications in Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED from Lifesaving Society Ontario. Alex also holds the National Lifeguard Service certification from July 2007 and a Smart Serve certification from the Hospitality Training Organization of Ontario, though the details regarding the month and year of obtaining the Smart Serve certification are not available.
