Luis Carlos Berrocal is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, software engineering, and civil engineering. As a Professor at Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá since April 2018, Luis Carlos teaches Introduction to GIS Tools in the GIS Masters program. Concurrently, since December 2021, Luis Carlos serves as a Senior Software Engineer at PayJoy, where responsibilities include leading the implementation of a Kafka streaming platform and developing microservices using Django and AWS. Previous experience at Canal de Panamá involved roles such as Development Team Supervisor and GIS Analyst, where Luis Carlos led the integration of maritime operational systems and managed the GIS unit. With a strong academic foundation, including a Master's in Environmental Engineering and a Graduate degree in Geographic Information Systems from Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, Luis Carlos combines technical expertise with a commitment to education and innovation in the field.
