Trevor Dougherty has a diverse work experience. Trevor began their career in 2009 as a Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data Systems Specialist (13D) for the Oklahoma Army National Guard. In 2008, they worked as a Technology Support for Northeastern State University, where they were responsible for a computer lab of 100 computers. In 2014, they worked as a Data Entry (contract) for Weathernews Inc., where they ensured the program was up to date every morning, monitored ship routes generated by the program and checked for errors, and flagged routes with unsafe conditions. From 2015 to 2022, they worked for Farmers Insurance in roles such as a Full Stack Developer, Helpdesk Analyst, and Sharepoint Development Intern. Currently, they are a Software Engineer for PayIt.

Trevor Dougherty obtained a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Oklahoma between 2009 and 2013. Trevor then obtained a Jira Fundamentals Badge from Atlassian in August 2022 and a "Become a Programmer" certification from Lynda.com in July 2016.
