Raquel Orejas is currently the Content Manager at Payhawk. Prior to this, they worked as an Agriculture and Climate Change Program Officer at Fundación Pueblo para el Pueblo from August 2016 to November 2017. In this role, they co-managed the foundation's partnership efforts in agriculture and climate change projects in the DRC, Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Raquel also supervised and evaluated agriculture projects in Mozambique, DRC and Namibia, and undertook research and surveys of small scale farmers in Namibia and DRC. Together with IUCN they secured funding from the Green Climate Fund (PPF) in Mozambique.
From May 2015 to May 2016, they worked as an Associate Consultant at ECODES (Fundación EcologÃa y Desarrollo), where they prepared the regional analysis on the Study of Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystems in the Latin American Pacific Alliance (LAPA) countries for FOMIN, Interamerican Development Bank (IADB). Raquel also supported the desing and implementation of a Massive Open Online Course on Sustainability, Climate Change and B Corporations.
Orejas has also worked as an Advisor at Cerebriti from January 2015 to September 2021.
Raquel Orejas has a MA in International Economics and International Development from The Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor and Master in Business Management from Esade, and they studied at Kells, Co. Meath. Ireland at Headfort School.
