Christopher Smoak is an experienced software engineering professional, currently serving as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Pax8 since April 2018, with a progression through various leadership roles in the company. As a small business owner of Smoak Design since January 2008, Christopher has focused on freelance web design and development for local businesses, primarily using WordPress for simple e-commerce and brochure sites. Previous roles include Application Engineer at Schoolrunner, where significant cost savings were achieved through micro-services architecture, and Software Engineer at NextGear Capital, emphasizing AngularJS component development and automated testing. Christopher also contributed to the HUBzero® platform as a Web Application Programmer, enhancing functionality and API infrastructure. An early career experience as a Student Web Assistant at Purdue Convocations involved website updates and graphic design projects. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University.
