Brad Bates has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Director-Third Party Risk at Pathward, where they oversee a team of Third-Party Risk Analysts and ensures compliance with risk policies and regulations. Prior to that, they served as a Financial Intelligence Unit Supervisor at MetaBank, where they supervised the work of Financial Intelligence Analysts and ensured compliance with banking regulations. Brad also worked as an Adjunct Professor in Homeland Security at Ivy Tech Community College. Before their career in the private sector, Brad had a long and successful tenure at the Kentucky State Police, where they held various leadership positions, including Lt. Colonel and Major-CIO, and was responsible for overseeing technical services, information systems, and other aspects of the agency.
Brad Bates received a BA in Criminal Justice from Kentucky Wesleyan College. Brad also obtained a Master of Science degree in Loss Prevention & Safety from Eastern Kentucky University. In addition, they attended the Naval Postgraduate School for the Center For Homeland Defense & Security Executive Leaders Program. Brad Bates also holds certifications such as CAMS- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist from ACAMS, CRVPM-Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager from the Compliance Education Institute, LLC, and they are a certified Police Instructor from the Kentucky Department Of Criminal Justice Training.
