Houston Fortney has worked in the engineering field since 2011. Houston began their career as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Battelle. In 2012, they started working as an Electrical Engineer at Lake Shore Cryotronics. In 2013, they took on a dual role as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Purdue University. In 2021, they joined Path Robotics as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer.

Houston Fortney obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University in 2014, having started their studies in 2011.
