Taran Singh Jagpal is a Senior Policy Adviser at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero since December 2022, focusing on Streamlining Corporate Tax Incentives, Energy Auditing, and Reporting Policies within the multi-billion Industrial Decarbonisation and Emissions Trading Directorate. Taran has expertise in various pivotal policies including the UK Emissions Trading Scheme and the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme. Notable accomplishments include leading digital projects and successfully passing Phase 3 Guidance & SI in Parliament. Taran also serves as an Alumni and Masterclass Delegate for the Patchwork Foundation, participating in high-profile masterclasses with prominent political figures. Previous experience includes project management at Birmingham City Council and an accounts assistant role at Lear Corporation. Taran holds a Master of Science in Global Affairs from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History from the University of Liverpool.
