Steven Friend, M.Ed, currently serves as the Assistant Principal for a high school within the Pasadena Independent School District, a position held since November 2010. Friend has developed Universal Design courses for diverse audiences and possesses expertise in instructional coaching and professional learning communities. Previous roles include serving as an Instructional Technology Specialist, where strong problem-solving skills were applied to implement quality project practices, and as a Department Chair for Social Studies, where significant improvements in state assessment achievements were realized. Friend has also managed large-scale student events, facilitated credit recovery initiatives, and contributed to blended learning implementations. With a background in education and construction management, along with experience as a professional athlete in the NFL, Friend’s multifaceted career reflects a commitment to educational excellence and student achievement.
