Zeynep Sayar began their work experience as a Summer Research Intern at Coloplast in 2015. In 2014, they became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University and worked there until 2016. In 2016, they joined OHSU as a Graduate Student Research Assistant, where they focused on characterizing the immune microenvironment in localized prostate tumors using advanced imaging and sequencing technologies. Zeynep also worked on developing microfluidic chip assays for patient stratification in early-stage prostate cancer. Zeynep is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Parse Biosciences, starting in November 2021.
Zeynep Sayar completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Biomedical Engineering and Engineering Management at Vanderbilt University from 2012 to 2016. Zeynep then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University from 2016 to 2021.
In addition to their academic degrees, Zeynep obtained a certification in "Python for Data Visualization" from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy in July 2021. Zeynep also has certifications in "Biosafety/Biosecurity" and "Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)" awarded by the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY. The specific dates of these certifications are not provided.
