Efthymia Papalexi has a diverse work experience in the field of biosciences and research. Efthymia is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Parse Biosciences since December 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at New York Genome Center from July 2021 to November 2021.
Efthymia completed their PHD in Bioinformatics from New York University, where they worked as a PHD Student in the Satija Lab from September 2015 to June 2021. Before that, they gained experience as a Research Technician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from June 2013 to July 2015.
Efthymia also has research experience from their time at Mount Holyoke College, where they participated in both an Independent Research Program and a Summer Research position. In addition to their academic and research experiences, Efthymia worked as an Italian Foreign Fellow at Mount Holyoke College from January 2013 to May 2013. Prior to that, they served as an Independent Researcher at CONSIGLIO NAZIONALE DELLE RICERCHE - CNR for the months of June 2011 and July 2011.
Efthymia'scareer in the field of biosciences started with a Lab Assistant / Teaching Assistant role at Anatolia College in April 2009 and May 2009, where they prepared and delivered presentations on basic lab principles and equipment use to fellow students.
Lastly, in June 2007 and July 2007, they were involved in a Summer Science Program at St. Cloud State University, where they performed insulin staining of pancreatic β-cells of Non-Obese Diabetic (NOD) mice using immunohistochemistry and mounting techniques.
