George Michalakis serves as a Member of Parliament in the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa since May 2014, where George holds the position of Chief Whip for the second largest party. Previously, George served as the Democratic Alliance Spokesperson in the National Council of Provinces focusing on Security and Justice. Prior to their parliamentary role, George was an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa at Schoeman Maree inc, specializing in various levels of litigation and appeals. Additionally, George was a District Municipal Councillor for the Lejweleputswa District Municipality, engaging in Corporate Services and Administration. George holds a BA (Hons.) in French and an LL.B. in Law, both from the University of the Free State.
