Amber Shen (Hanzi) has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and companies. Hanzi (Amber) is currently working as a Technical Product Manager at Optimism. Prior to that, they co-founded and hosted a lifestyle podcast called "DancingElephant," targeting the lifestyle and career choices of Asian communities. At DancingElephant, they were responsible for the entire production lifecycle, including brainstorming, content planning, recording, editing, and marketing. The podcast is available on channels across North America and Chinese platforms. Before that, Amber worked as a Product - TPM at Meta from July 2020 to January 2023. Hanzi (Amber) also has experience as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon from March 2018 to July 2020. Additionally, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Data-Driven Design Research Group at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they worked on a research project focused on building a next-generation fashion recommendation system. Hanzi (Amber) also interned as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Go and as a Software Engineer at Reconstruct Inc. Amber's early experience includes working as a Producer Assistant Intern at The New York Times in 2014.

Hanzi (Amber) Shen began their education journey in 2013 and graduated in 2017 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Hanzi (Amber)'sareas of study included Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as French Studies. During their time there, they gained a strong foundation in these subjects.

In 2015 and 2016, Hanzi (Amber) Shen also studied French Studies and Art History at the Institut catholique de Paris, although they did not obtain a degree during that time.

In addition to their formal education, Hanzi (Amber) Shen also pursued various certifications. In 2019, they obtained certifications in "Fashion Styling and Image Making" from The Business of Fashion, and in "The Art and Science of Buying and Merchandising" from the same institution in January. Furthermore, in December 2022, they obtained certification in "SEO Foundations" from LinkedIn. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to gaining expertise and expanding their knowledge in different areas outside of their main fields of study.
