Jay Townley has extensive work experience in the field of design and user experience. Jay started their career as a Junior Designer at Watermark Design Limited in 2004. Jay then worked as a Graphic User Interface Designer at ASA Communications, where they developed logos, apparel graphics, and various artwork for blue-chip companies. In 2005, Jay joined Nutriculture UK LTD as a Senior UX/UI Designer, where they managed and created media across multiple companies. Jay played a crucial role in designing artwork for posters, brochures, websites, and other advertising materials. In 2011, Jay joined ao.com as the UX Design Team Lead and later became a Senior UX/UI Designer. Jay implemented UX practices and principles to improve the customer-focused web experience and worked with a small team to coordinate and implement design projects. In 2014, Jay became the Head of UX at Think Money Group, where they specialized in improving customer-focused web experiences. Jay significantly improved the NPS score, transformed the online chat team, and increased site traffic. Since 2015, Jay has been the Head of Experience and Design at Parcel2Go.com, leading a team of designers and other professionals to develop products that meet customer needs. Under their leadership, the company achieved impressive revenue growth, increased average parcel value and conversion rates, and significantly uplifted revenue and protection taken.
Jay Townley has a diverse educational background. Jay obtained a BA Hons degree in Graphic Design from The University of Bolton, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they pursued a HND degree in Graphic Design at the University of Salford from 2001 to 2003. In 1999 to 2001, they attended Wigan and Leigh College, where they acquired a GNVQ in Advanced Information Technology and an A level in Fine Art. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from the Scrum Alliance in October 2019, a Neuro Linguistic Programming Coach Practitioner certification from The American Board of NLP in February 2017, and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from the School of Psychology Online in January 2017.
