Brian McGovern, MPA, serves as a Police Captain at the Paramus Police Department, a position held since 2000, and has risen through various ranks including Patrol Division Commander, Accreditation Manager, Patrol Lieutenant, and Patrol Sergeant. McGovern oversees 60 personnel and manages daily operations, emergency procedures, and strategic planning while emphasizing community safety, regulatory compliance, and incident response management. Notably, McGovern achieved advanced security accreditation in June 2022. Previous experience includes roles at the Carlstadt Police Department and as Treasurer for the Paramus PBA Local 186 Civic Association, where financial management and integrity were essential. Brian McGovern holds a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from William Paterson University, along with training from the FBI National Academy completed in early 2023.
