Richard Samuels has worked in the software engineering field since 1998. Richard began their career as a Programmer and Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they worked on the Typed Assembly Language (TAL) project. Richard then moved to Oracle in 2000, where they held the roles of Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Principal Software Engineer in the OLAP Division. In 2013, they joined Akamai Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer in the Platform Data Services Division, where they were responsible for design and implementation of services used by Akamai to collect and analyze system and product telemetry. In 2019, they joined TripAdvisor as a Principal Software Engineer in the “WareHouse, Analytics and Measurement (WHAM!)” team. In 2020, they joined Paradigm4 as a Principal Software Engineer.
Richard Samuels attended Hunter College High School from 1990 to 1996, graduating with a high school diploma. Richard then attended Cornell University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. In March 2015, they obtained a certification in "Tackling the Challenges of Big Data" from edX.
