Ashby Franklin Sharpless has been working in the computer industry for over 30 years. Ashby Franklin began their career in 1996 as the Director of Application Development and Director of Engineering at MediStreams, LLC. In the same year, they became the CTO of PaperHost/MediStreams, where they were responsible for all information technology and software development activities. Over the past five years, they have implemented the use of the Agile Software Development Cycle, continuous integration software deployments, and expanded the QA team. Ashby Franklin has also been a Java software developer for the past 16 years.

Ashby Franklin Sharpless attended the University of West Georgia from 1982 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) with a field of study in Business Information Systems.
