Robin Hurst has extensive work experience in the energy industry. They have held various leadership roles at Southern Company, including VP Project Shared Services, VP Projects and Construction, and GM Projects and Construction. In these positions, they were responsible for planning and executing major capital projects and maintenance outages for the company's fossil-fired fleet of generating plants. They also managed environmental, retrofit, and demolition projects for the hydro and fossil fueled generation fleet across Alabama and Georgia. Robin Hurst has a strong background in engineering and asset management, including overseeing the development of new generation assets and financial models. Currently, they are serving as the VP Renewable Energy at PANHANDLE POWER SOLUTIONS LLC. Their role involves leading the development of renewable energy projects and delivering exceptional results through outstanding teams.
Robin Hurst received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 1993. Robin went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, which they completed in 1997. In 2004, Robin attended the University of Idaho for a Utility Executive Course, but did not pursue a specific degree.
