Daniel Civello has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics, data science, and engineering.

Daniel is currently working as the Head of Engineering at Pandora Bio, Inc since February 2023. In this role, they oversee the engineering team and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of engineering strategies.

In addition to their current role, Daniel also works as an Independent Data Science / Analytics / Engineering Consultant since February 2023. Daniel provides consulting services in the areas of data science, analytics, and engineering.

Prior to their current positions, Daniel held the role of VP Bioinformatics at Loyal / Cellular Longevity from August 2022 to January 2023. In this role, they consolidated three related scientific roles into one and focused the work of seven individuals on canine lifespan/healthspan drug programs. Daniel also established consistent norms across bioinformatics, data science, and engineering teams.

Before Loyal / Cellular Longevity, Daniel worked at GRAIL, Inc. from 2017 to 2022. Daniel held various roles including Director of Bioinformatics and Data Engineering, Director of Clinical Data Science, and Associate Director of Clinical Data Science. In these roles, they managed teams, implemented data visualization frameworks, and developed data platforms for clinical trials.

Prior to GRAIL, Daniel worked at Celgene from 2014 to 2017 as a Principal Data Scientist in Research Informatics and Knowledge Utilization. Daniel established a Data Engineering team, automated dose-response modeling, and co-developed a study curation platform.

Daniel also gained valuable experience at Genomic Health from 2008 to 2014, where they worked as a Principal Analyst in Biostatistics and Biomedical Data Computing. Daniel led automated data reviews, co-developed assay metrics, and supported the study data lifecycle.

Early in their career, Daniel worked at Celera Corporation as a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist from 2001 to 2008. Daniel created novel tools for PCR success rate improvement and gene identification.

Finally, Daniel started their career at Pfizer Global Research and Development as a Bioinformatics Scientist from 2000 to 2001. Daniel developed tools for genetic marker mapping and SNP detection.
