Diana Gawol

Aquatic Biologist at Palmer

Diana Gawol is a fisheries biologist currently working at Palmer since May 2022, where responsibilities include leading teams in spawner surveys in remote areas of British Columbia and the Yukon. In addition, Diana serves as a coordinator for Squamish Streamkeepers, focusing on watershed management since August 2023. Previous roles include research assistant at the University of Toronto, contributing to biochemical experiments on gamete fusion proteins, and research technician at Virogin Biotech, where analysis of oncolytic HSV-1 biodistribution was conducted. Diana's diverse background also includes extensive travel and volunteering in animal welfare and community education from 2012 to 2017. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of British Columbia and an Associate's degree in Biology from Langara College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies and History from Technische Universität Dresden.
