In her most recent role of a public service career that has spanned over three decades, Essye Miller served as Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer and Acting Defense Chief Information Officer at the Department of Defense, selected by former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis. Previously, she served as Director of Cybersecurity for the Army CIO. Essye is a career member of the Senior Executive Service, and has deep expertise in information management and technology, cybersecurity, and critical satellite communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Talladega College, a Master of Business Administration from Troy State University, and a Master of Strategic Studies from Air University. In addition, she is a 2016 graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in National and International Security Studies.
