Emily Sotomayor is a versatile outdoor professional with extensive experience in guiding, coaching, and photography. As the Founder of Outdoor Commune since August 2022, Emily has also served as a Photography Coordinator for Climbers of Color from October 2023. Guiding roles include positions at Alpenglow Expeditions and Shasta Mountain Guides, alongside ski instruction at Palisades Tahoe. Prior experience encompasses Northstar Ski Patrol at Vail Resorts, guiding at NROCKS Outdoor Adventures, and coaching at Brooklyn Boulders. Emily held significant leadership roles at Eidolon Optical, LLC, as Director of Technology and Creative Director, where responsibilities included innovating ophthalmic devices and expanding sales. An educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Wellesley College and studies at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation.
