Senior Director of Operations at Palecek

Fabian Vargas has a strong background in operations and manufacturing management. Fabian has held various leadership roles throughout their career.

Fabian began their career as a Production Engineer at Smurfit Kappa in 2002. Fabian then worked as an Assistant Professor at Universidad del Norte from 2003 to 2004.

In 2004, Fabian joined Finotex as a Production Chief, where they managed three production lines and supervised 150 operators. Fabian later became the Thermal Transfer Division Manager and was responsible for managing sales and operations, achieving annual sales of $2,000. Fabian also served as the Plant Operations Manager, overseeing operations, maintenance, quality control, and other functions at the Colombian Facility.

In 2011, Fabian joined Industrias Spring S.A as a Plant Manager, where they were responsible for manufacturing operations at three facilities and supervised a team of 275 people. After six years, they moved to Spectrum Brands, Inc as the Manufacturing Director for PET LATAM, and later for Pet Food US. In these roles, Fabian oversaw manufacturing operations and was responsible for the St. Louis plant and the exchange plant.

Most recently, Fabian worked at Amazon as the Senior Operations Manager, where they led transportation operations in the Milwaukee region. Fabian managed eight buildings and provided leadership to a team of managers and associates.

Currently, Fabian is the Senior Director of Operations at Palecek, where they are responsible for managing manufacturing and warehouse operations at the Richmond manufacturing facility. Fabian leads a team of over 140 employees and focuses on operational requirements, change, and process improvement.

Fabian Vargas has a strong educational background in industrial engineering. Fabian completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Industrial Engineering at Universidad del Norte from 1997 to 2002. Fabian subsequently pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering at the same university from 2003 to 2005.

Seeking to enhance their knowledge in logistics, materials, and supply chain management, Fabian Vargas pursued a Master's degree at Universitat de Barcelona from 2014 to 2015. This allowed him to specialize in the field and deepen their understanding of the subject.

In addition to their formal education, Fabian Vargas also sought expertise in the Theory of Constraints (TOC) through a program at Goldratt Schools. From 2010 to 2011, they completed the Alex Rogo Expert program, which focused on the application of TOC principles.
