Babar Shafeeq has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Babar started their career in 1999 with the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, where they served in various positions including 2nd Officer, 3rd Officer, and Deck Cadet/Trainee Navigation Officer until 2004. In 2006, they joined Gulf Maritime as a Chief Officer and worked there until 2007. From 2007 to 2013, they worked for Wallem GmbH CO & KG as a Master Mariner / Chief Officer. Since 2013, Babar has been self-employed and has been actively looking for new opportunities in commercial shipping.
Babar Shafeeq's education history begins in 1997 when they attended Pakistan Marine Academy, where they obtained a B.Sc. degree in Maritime Studies. In 2001, they enrolled at Singapore Polytechnic and completed a DNS in Nautical Studies in 2002. In 2005, Babar Shafeeq pursued further education at Blackpool and the Fylde College, specializing in Maritime Studies and earning a Master Mariner degree. Additionally, in the same year, they attended the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, focusing on Multimodal Transport & Logistics, Port Agency, and Dry Cargo Chartering, and was awarded an MICS. Finally, from 2013 to 2015, Babar Shafeeq attended Bahria University (Karachi Campus) and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Logistic and Port Management.
