Sarah Zablotny Buhayar is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategy and education. Currently serving as the Director of the Foundation Strategy Office at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Sarah provides strategic advisory support to co-chair Melinda French Gates and oversees key initiatives in US Economic Mobility, gender norms, and the India Office. Prior roles within the foundation include Deputy Director for the Office of the Co-Chair and Lead Senior Program Officer focusing on national K-12 education strategy. Sarah's governance experience includes serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at the Pacific Science Center and as a board member for Treehouse, contributing to initiatives supporting youth in foster care. Sarah has also been involved in state-level poverty reduction efforts and has taught graduate-level courses at the University of Washington. An MBA graduate from the Kellogg School of Management and holding further degrees in education and English literature, Sarah has a solid foundation in both educational and organizational strategy.
