Emily Sharp

Director, Strategy, Performance & Learning at Pacific Community

Ms. Emily Sharp is the Director of Strategy, Performance and Learning. Her appointment has formally taken effect on 12 March 2019.

Ms. Sharp has 20 years of experience in applied science practice, strategy, policy, programme design and monitoring, evaluation and learning. She holds a Master’s of Public Health from Charles Darwin University, and a postgraduate qualification in Assessment and Evaluation from University of Melbourne.

Ms. Sharp has been with SPC for the past 3.5 years in the position of Lead – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and most recently the Acting Director – Strategy, Performance and Learning. Prior to SPC, Emily was Manager – Policy and Program Development with Indigenous Land Corporation in Australia assisting indigenous Australians achieve economic, environmental, social and cultural benefits through owning and managing land.

Strategy, Performance and Learning (SPL) is a specialised unit within SPC’s Office of the Director-General. SPL has staff based at our headquarters in Noumea, as well as our regional office in Suva. The team has the following core functions: (i) increasing development effectiveness through leading and coordinating corporate monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning; (ii) supporting the Director-General and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in undertaking strategic corporate initiatives, including organisational planning, organisational improvement or start-up projects and iii) serving as a strategic coordination point for key relationships with external stakeholders, including member countries and territories, donors and development partners. Ms. Sharp’s background and skills will position her well as she assumes the leadership of this important function at SPC.

Ms. Sharp is be based at SPC’s Regional Office in Suva, Fiji.
