Rachel Deleon Mejia

Program Manager of Bioassays, Toxicology at Pacific BioLabs, Inc.

Rachel Deleon Mejia has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years.

Rachel is currently serving as the Program Manager of Bioassays, Toxicology at Pacific BioLabs, Inc. since December 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at UCSF from March 2018 to February 2021, where they focused on understanding airway cilia and their function.

Rachel also worked as a Researcher at the United States Department of Agriculture from March 2016 to March 2018, where they conducted research on the development of poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB), a fully biodegradable thermoplastic replacement. Rachel cultivated bacteria and used various techniques to extract and separate the monomer, dimer, and trimer of PHB.

In addition, Rachel has experience as a Graduate Teaching Associate at Sonoma State University in 2014 and as an Operations Manager at Face The World Foundation from May 2014 to September 2014. In both roles, they demonstrated their organizational and coordination skills by managing cultural events, coordinating transportation, conducting interviews, and performing background checks.

Earlier in their career, Rachel worked as an Executive Assistant at Senetek PLC from 2006 to 2010, where they collaborated with doctors and physicians during clinical trials and acted as a customer service representative at biopharmaceutical tradeshows. Rachel also served as an Executive Assistant at Industrial Services Group from 2004 to 2006, where they assisted scientists, managed daily operations, and handled financial responsibilities.

Throughout their career, Rachel has showcased their abilities to conduct research, manage projects, coordinate events, and provide administrative support.

Rachel Deleon Mejia obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Sonoma State University. Rachel attended the university from 2011 to 2014.
