Rod Cheater is a Senior Apps Platform Engineer at OzRunways Pty Ltd since January 2024. Prior to this role, Rod served as a Senior Software Engineer at HappyCo from October 2016 to December 2023, focusing on full stack development for the Happy Property product, utilizing Go microservices, Kubernetes, Postgres, React, Flutter, and mobile app development. Rod's earlier experience includes a Software Engineer position at Schneider Electric (March 2013 - October 2016), where responsibilities involved developing planning and scheduling applications for supply chain optimisation and providing agile coaching. Additionally, Rod worked as a Research Engineer at Defence Science and Technology Group from January 2002 to October 2012, contributing to projects including simulation architecture and sonar data processing software. Rod holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Systems Engineering from the University of South Australia and both a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer) with Honours Class 1 and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Newcastle.
