James MacMahon has a diverse and extensive work history. It started in 2009 when they worked as a Software Developer at the University of Waterloo. After that, they joined IBM Canada Ltd. in 2010, where they held the same role as a Software Developer. In 2015, James began working for Vena Solutions, where they started as a Technical Team Lead before moving to an Infrastructure Engineer role. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining stability, scalability, uptime, and security of Vena's SaaS infrastructure. James was also in charge of deploying infrastructure as code, diagnosing and fixing production issues, ensuring customer data backups, advising on technical direction, and more. At the same time, in 2015, they worked as a Software Developer for Primate Labs Inc. James's most recent work experience was with Oxide Computer Company in 2021, where they worked as a Software Engineer.

James MacMahon completed their undergraduate education from the University of Waterloo in 2010 with a degree in Computer Engineering.
