Sheri Drake has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and audit roles. Sheri is currently working as the Finance Manager at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BDO UK LLP from February 2016 to January 2022, starting as an Audit Senior, then progressing to Assistant Audit Manager and finally becoming a Manager. From February 2012 to February 2016, Sheri was employed at PKF South Africa, where they began as an Audit Trainee and later became an Audit Supervisor.

Sheri Drake attended Nelson Mandela University from 2008 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting. Their field of study was Accounting and Finance. After completing their undergraduate degree, Sheri continued their education at Nelson Mandela University in 2011. During this year, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (BCom Hons) degree in Accounting, focusing on Accounting and Finance.
