Indira Medina

Field Application Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Indira Medina has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2014, they started their career as a Science Communications Fellow at the Pacific Science Center, where they worked until 2018. In the same year, they also joined Fred Hutch as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and later transitioned to the role of Business Development and Industry Relations Fellow. In 2016, they joined NanoString Technologies, Inc. as a Technical Support Scientist and eventually progressed to become an Applications Product Manager and Senior Technical Applications Scientist. Currently, since 2022, Medina is employed at Oxford Nanopore Technologies as a Technical Applications Scientist and Field Application Scientist.

Indira Medina completed their education at Leiden University. Indira obtained a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from 2002 to 2004. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health and Medical Sciences from 2008 to 2014 at the same university. In addition to their formal education, they acquired additional certifications in subjects such as Introduction to Probability and Data Analysis with R and Machine Learning from Coursera. Indira also gained expertise in Public Speaking and Scientific Communications from the Pacific Science Center.
