Raymond Carlaw has a diverse work experience in renewable energy systems and software development. Raymond co-founded Oxamii in 2019, where they developed digital marketplace solutions for distributed renewable energy systems. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Renewtrak Global Services from 2018 to 2019. Raymond also held the role of Software Developer at Levo Group from 2017 to 2018 and IT Operations & Software Developer at Smart Commercial Solar from 2016 to 2017. Raymond Carlaw has academic experience as well, serving as a Casual Academic at UNSW from 2015 to 2016, where they worked on developing a low-cost spectral response system for solar cells. Raymond also worked on various research projects as a Taste of Research Scholar at UNSW. Raymond Carlaw started their career as a Project Officer at Demand Manager, where they managed the collection and submission of small trade certificates for residential solar systems from 2013 to 2014.

Raymond Carlaw completed their high school education at Knox Grammar School from 2007 to 2009, earning their High School Certificate. Following this, they pursued further studies at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) from 2011 to 2016. During their time at UNSW, Raymond obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Photovoltaic Engineering and Computer Science.
