Sarena Shen has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry. Sarena is currently the VP of Finance at Empower and also serves as an advisor and CFO at Overplay. Prior to their current roles, Sarena co-founded Unplugg, Inc. in 2017 and worked as a Fellow at the Startup Leadership Program from 2018 to 2019. Earlier in their career, they held positions as a Director at BTIG from 2010 to 2017, Vice President at Deutsche Bank from 2007 to 2010, Associate at Bear Stearns from 2005 to 2007, and Associate at Morgan Stanley from 1998 to 2003.

Sarena Shen has obtained an MBA degree in Finance, General from Columbia Business School. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. In addition to their formal education, they also hold a certification from the CFA Institute, although the month and year of obtaining this certification are not specified.
