Sid Balman Jr. serves as the Writer In Residence at Sul Ross State University since August 2020 and operates as an Independent Writer, with notable literary works including the Seventh Flag trilogy, which explores radicalism in the U.S. through diaspora narratives. Balman has contributed as a writer for Outside Magazine since 2014 and has held various strategic communication roles, including Director of Transnational Initiatives at Creative Associates International and Managing Director at turner4D. As CEO of The Balman Group and Chief of Strategic Communications at InterAction, Balman has extensive experience in leadership and public communication. Additionally, teaching experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor at American University. Balman’s educational background encompasses a Bachelor's degree in English from Vanderbilt University and a Master’s in Journalism and International Relations from American University.
