Mathias Burkert

Director Portfolio & Product Management at OUTLETCITY AG

Mathias Burkert has had extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Mathias started their career at abaXX Technology AG in 1999, where they served as a Senior Technical Product Manager and later as the Head of Cross Sector Solutions. In these roles, they were responsible for developing branch-neutral intranet portal solutions and leading the development of a J2EE-based intranet portal solution.

In 2004, Burkert joined Telefónica o2 Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, where they held the positions of Senior Projektmanager - Leiter Project Office and later Leiter Entwicklung Web Portal. In these roles, they managed the coordination and multiproject management for O2 end customer portals and online services, along with overseeing the development of end-customer portals.

From 2011 to 2018, Burkert worked at HOLY AG, initially as a Senior Program Manager responsible for selecting and building the e-commerce platform and infrastructure for the company's e-business division. Mathias then served as the Head of Online Marketing & CRM, where they focused on acquiring new customers for the OUTLETCITY METZINGEN online shop and developing strategies to retain existing customers. Later, Burkert became the Head of Product- & Shopmanagement, responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of the e-commerce product strategy for OUTLETCITY METZINGEN.

In 2018, Burkert joined Daimler AG as the Leiter Digital Commerce Platform - Strategy & Marketplace, where they were in charge of the strategy and marketplace aspects of the company's digital commerce platform.

Most recently, Burkert has been working at OUTLETCITY METZINGEN, eine Marke der HOLY AG, as the Director Portfolio & Product Management, overseeing portfolio management and product strategies. Mathias also held the position of Head of Marketplace, responsible for the development and management of the marketplace.

Mathias Burkert earned a Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. degree in Diplom Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, where they studied from 1991 to 1999. From 2006 to 2008, they completed the Professional Management Program, Qualifikationsprogramm für Führungskräfte at Munich Leadership Group. Mathias also became a Certified SCRUM Master in 2008 through SCRUM Alliance (Jeff Sutherland).
