Maya Yamaguchi S. currently serves as the Assistant Program Manager for the Middle East & Central Asia at Spirit of America, where responsibilities include coordinating with US military and diplomatic personnel to provide humanitarian and economic assistance in challenging environments. As a Rising Leaders Fellow with Justice Outside, Maya focuses on career development for individuals committed to cultural change in the outdoor and environmental justice sectors. Additional roles include Administrative and Grants Manager at The Outdoorist Oath, Avalanche Awareness Course Instructor at the Northwest Avalanche Center, and former Ambassador Coordinator at The Cairn Project, dedicated to enhancing outdoor access for marginalized groups. Previous experience includes positions with Mercy Corps, the Fulbright Association, and Bryant Christie Inc., alongside various volunteer roles emphasizing research and community engagement. Maya holds a BA in Economics and International Studies from the University of Washington and is pursuing an MBA at the UW Foster School of Business.
