Agriculture Practice Lead at Outbox

Ariong Moses has a diverse work experience that spans over 15 years. ARIONG currently serves as the Agriculture Practice Lead at Outbox since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Food Security Fellow at the Aspen Institute New Voices Fellowship starting from January 2017.

Ariong then joined Teach For Uganda in May 2019, serving as the Director of Alumni Programs until May 2020. ARIONG later became the Development and External Partnerships Manager from May 2020 to January 2023.

Before their involvement with Teach For Uganda, Ariong worked at One Acre Fund. ARIONG held several roles within the organization, including Senior Project Specialist - Field Execution from February 2018 to May 2019, Project Specialist - Field Execution from June 2017 to January 2018, and Project Specialist - Agriculture Innovations from March 2016 to May 2017.

Ariong's earlier experience includes working as the Livelihoods Program Manager at ChildFund International from August 2013 to September 2014, and as a Food Security Fellow at Global Health Corps from July 2012 to August 2013. ARIONG also worked as a Livelihoods Program Manager at ChildFund International from May 2008 to August 2012.

In addition, Ariong served as the Farmer Field Schools Coordinator at the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction from February 2008 to May 2008. ARIONG began their career as a Research Assistant in the Soil Science Department at Makerere University from August 2006 to June 2007, where they participated in a special project assignment for the Award of a BSc. Agriculture degree. Prior to that, they worked as a Management Trainee at the Cotton Development Authority - Uganda from July 2006 to October 2006. Overall, Ariong Moses has gained extensive experience in agriculture, food security, program management, and partnership development throughout their career.

Ariong Moses has a diverse education history. In 2003 to 2007, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture with a focus on Soil Science from Makerere University. Continuing their education, from 2010 to 2011, they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute. Following this, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Management Studies (MMS) with a specialization in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute.

In 2014 to 2015, Moses attended The University of Manchester, where they completed a Master of Science degree in Pollution and Environmental Control. While the specific fields of study for the remaining education experiences are not mentioned, they underwent additional training or courses. These include monitoring and evaluation training from the Center for Disease Control/Makerere University School of Public Health/Uganda Management Institute, enterprise risk management training from ChildFund Uganda, Lots Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) training also from ChildFund Uganda, area strategic planning process training from ChildFund Uganda, grants acquisition and management training from ChildFund Uganda, VSLA methodology training from Communities Caring for Children Program (CCP - Uganda), public speaking training from Global Health Corps, business development and management training from Teso Private Sector Development Centre (TESOPS), and cost management and budget control training from Uganda Management Institute.
