Raphael Vallat, PhD, currently serves as the Lead Machine Learning Data Scientist at ŌURA, where responsibilities include the research, development, and deployment of innovative sleep-related features, such as algorithms for sleep tracking and disorder detection. Prior to this role, Raphael worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher for five years in the Center for Human Sleep Science at the University of California, Berkeley, specifically in Prof. Matt Walker's lab. Raphael also has extensive teaching experience at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, covering various subjects including machine learning, neuroimaging, social science, and neurobiology. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the same institution, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Sciences from Université Lumière Lyon 2.
