Tero Hietanen serves as the Head of the Degree Programme in Master of Technology Education at Oulu University of Applied Sciences since August 2020 while also participating as a member of the quality and responsibility working group. Since August 2023, Tero Hietanen has been the Chairman of the working group on cross-education in universities of applied sciences at the Ministry of Education & Culture, following membership since 2021. Tero Hietanen has been involved with the Finnish Society of Automation since January 2009, holding the position of Chairman of the Education Committee and serving on the board from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, Tero Hietanen has worked at Oulu University of Applied Sciences as a Senior Lecturer and has previously held roles including Head of Degree Programme and Project Engineer at Vitec ALMA Oy. Early career experience includes a Researcher position at the University of Oulu from October 1995 to December 2001.
