Thomas Gels is a skilled marine engineer with experience in various roles within the maritime industry. Currently serving as an Assistant Engineer at Otto Candies, LLC since March 2018, Thomas has previously held positions such as Third Engineer & QMED at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and worked as an On-Site Crew member at North Point Marine, where leadership in machinery transport and safety protocols was demonstrated. Additional experience includes serving as an Engine Cadet at TE SubCom, Facilities Intern at Harvard Law School, Deckhand at Boston Harbor Cruises, and a worker at Economy True Value Hardware. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Energy Systems Engineering and Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, complemented by a high school diploma from Boston Latin School.
