Luis Gabriel Juarez is an experienced urban planner currently serving as a Planner III in the ByWard Market Public Realm Office at the City of Ottawa since January 2021. Prior to this role, Luis held various positions at the City of Markham, including Planner II for Markham Centre and Planner I for the Central District, beginning in January 2017. Luis has also worked as a Development Technician for the City of Markham, Assistant Project Coordinator at Graham, Heritage Programs Assistant at the Ontario Heritage Trust, and Community Planning and Development Student at PROASSA. Luis's early experience includes serving as a Campus Renewal Planning and Design Student at the University of Waterloo - St. Jerome's University and Assistant Planner at ParioPlan Inc. Luis holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies with an Honours Planning specialization in Land Development Planning from the University of Waterloo, completed in 2016.
