Mark Brite's work experience includes a software engineering management role at Osmose since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Alter Domus as a software engineering manager from 2022 to 2023. From 2013 to 2022, Mark held various roles at Wells Fargo, including software engineering manager, infrastructure senior engineer, apps systems engineer, and lead developer. Mark also worked as a software engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology in 2012 and as a software engineer at Investance from 2011 to 2012. Mark Brite began their career as a web developer at BFW Advertising in 2000 and has since held software engineering positions at RAND Corporation and Claremont Graduate University. Mark had responsibilities such as lead programmer/analyst, lead developer, and PeopleSoft administration. Mark was also a software engineer at Newton Wellesley Hospital, overseeing clinical quality improvement and data analysis.

Mark Brite attended Florida State University from 1998 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Science/Studies.

After completing their undergraduate degree, in 2004 Mark Brite enrolled in Claremont Graduate University. Mark pursued a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems and Technology, which they obtained in 2006. Additionally, in May 2006, they obtained the MSIS certification from Claremont Graduate University.

In December 2020, Mark Brite acquired the Splunk Core Certified User certification from Splunk. This certification is not directly related to their formal education but demonstrates their proficiency in using the Splunk core software.
