Bassam R. has extensive experience in risk management and banking supervision, currently serving as Director of Data & Analytical Insights and previously as Director and Manager of Deposit Taking Supervision at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada since October 2018. Prior to this, Bassam R. was a Senior Risk Manager at GE Capital, overseeing a credit risk team managing over $5 billion in credit and a $6 billion global energy portfolio. Experience also includes roles as Risk Manager at BLOM Bank Qatar LLC, Head of Business Development at First Finance Company in Qatar, and Credit Risk Analyst at BLOM Bank SAL. Educational qualifications include advanced degrees in Data Science and Big Data Analytics from York University, a Financial Risk Manager certification from GARP, and an MBA in Finance from Notre Dame University - Louaize.
