Tanja Aschenbeck is Head of Financial Services Osborne Clarke, Germany. She advises national and international companies, banks and start-ups in capital market and financial regulatory law. Tanja’s advice focusses on the structuring of capital investments and alternative investments, in particular (closed-end) investment funds, crowdfunding, ICOs/STOs and profit participation rights. In addition, she specialises in advising on payment transaction and other regulatory law for payment service providers and industrial companies.
In the area of financial regulatory law, she advises start-up companies and international companies on licensing and other BaFin procedures. In the area of capital investment law, she advises many issuing houses, initiators and fund managers on the structuring, regulatory questions and the preparation of prospectuses.
Tanja Aschenbeck has been admitted to the bar since 2001. After her first state examination, she obtained a Master of Laws degree in International Business Transactions at the University of San Francisco (LL.M.). During her legal traineeship, she also worked in the legal department of WestLB in New York. Since May 2006, she is also a tax lawyer.
Tanja Aschenbeck is co-author of the legal handbook Digital Financial Services by Beck Verlag, regularly publishes in various professional journals and gives regular lectures in the field of financial regulatory and capital market law.
Together with the European Crowdfunding Network, she has initiated several Europe-wide studies on the financial regulatory treatment of crowdfunding, presented them to the EU Commission and prepared studies on European regulation for the EU Commission.
