Co-Founder and Vice President of R&D at OrthoFX at OrthoFX

Loc X. Phan has held a variety of roles in the medical and technology industries since 1986. Loc began their career as a Chemist at CooperVision in 1986 and then moved on to KeraVision in 1987 in the same role. In 1989, they became a Project Leader at Landec Corp. Loc then co-founded Quanam Medical Corp in 1995, where they served as VP of R&D. In 1999, they became Materials Technology Director at Align Technology, where they were the inventor and co-inventor of over 50 patents in the field of clear aligner orthodontic. From 2003 to 2013, they were Principal Scientist at Broncus Medical Inc., where they developed the drug delivery component of Exhale and co-developed and executed the pre-clinical study program. From 2013 to 2018, they were Co-Founder and Head of R&D at MIBA Medical, Inc., where they developed crucial company technologies in medical aesthetics for large and small-volume soft tissue augmentation applications using cross-linked hyaluronic acid with uniquely customized degradation profiles. Since 2018, they have been Co-Founder and Vice President of R&D, and then Vice President of R&D, and then Director of R&D at OrthoFX.

Loc X. Phan obtained a B.S. in Biological Sciences, with a focus in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, from San Jose State University between 1983 and 1987. In 2016, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Strategic Management from Northcentral University.
