Rudolf Poolman is a professor at Leiden University Medical Center since December 2019 and has extensive experience in orthopedic surgery, serving as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at OLVG since January 2007. Poolman holds leadership roles such as the Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Director of Clinical Research at Joint Research OLVG. In addition, Poolman is a steering committee member for health care evaluation at Federatie Medisch Specialisten and has played key roles in multiple orthopedic associations, including the Nederlandse Orthopedische Vereniging and the Dutch Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Education includes an MD and PhD from the University of Amsterdam and a fellowship at McMaster University in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery and Research Methodology. Notably, Poolman received recognition as the "best OLVG residency training program director" in 2012.
