Michael Chavez has worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for OrthAlign, Inc. since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Manufacturing Engineer at PARPRO Corporation - Partners in Production & Design from 2019 to 2021. In this role, they supported surface mount technology (SMT) and mechanical assembly processes, generated and updated assembly instructions, and reviewed assembly documentation. Michael also created SPI, pick & place, 3D AOI, and 3D Advanced X-Ray (AXI) programs for the inspection, component placement, and analysis of SMT products. Additionally, from 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Packaging Automation for Alcon. In this role, they designed and 3D printed an end effector for a UR10 robotic arm to pick and place trays with the company's eye products into a fixture and to seal it afterwards. Michael also comprised a vacuum system set up with the following subsystems: venturi pump, pressure regulator and a solenoid.

Michael Chavez attended UC Irvine from 2012 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
