Sean McHugh has extensive work experience in the dairy industry. Sean started their career as a Chemistry Laboratory Technician at Irish Dairy Board in 1999. Sean then worked as a Shift Supervisor at Golden Vale for a brief period in 2000. After that, they joined Ornua where they held various roles including Strategic Projects Executive, Product Development Executive, Group Continuous Improvement Manager, Group Operational Efficiency Manager, Group Head of Operational Strategy, and finally, Managing Director at Kerrygold Park. In their roles at Ornua, they were responsible for operational strategy, driving transformational change, improving operational efficiency, and managing key strategic projects. Overall, Sean McHugh has a wealth of experience in managing and improving operations in the dairy industry.
Sean McHugh began their education in 1995 at Dundalk Institute of Technology, where they earned a National Certificate in Science in 1997. Sean then went on to pursue a BSc in Food Science at University College Cork from 1998 to 2000. In 2006, Sean obtained an Applied Diploma in Project Management from the Irish Project Management Institute. Following this, they enrolled at Dundalk Institute of Technology again in 2007 and completed a National Diploma in Food Science and Technology in 2008. In 2011 and 2012, Sean attended University College Cork and earned an MComm in Supply Chain Management (Lean Blackbelt). Finally, in 2013 and 2014, they studied at the Irish Management Institute and obtained a Diploma in Business Finance.
